Why - Intent
Our MDM policy allows for segregation of your personal apps and data from your work apps and data. This prevents H&D from accessing your personal data and also prevents your personal apps from interacting with H&D data.
How
The experience varies depending on the device and software version you are using. In simple terms you can think about it this way - by accepting our policy the Device Management software will install a work profile onto your device, within which we manage work apps and data. By installing this profile we do gain access to some default security settings on your device however not all are enforced by H&D. We do not have access to your personal data.
iOS (Apple)
When signing into any H&D Accounts (eg. your H&D email on the Gmail app), our policy will automatically prompt to install onto your device. If you do not accept the policy, you will not be able to access any of the H&D Google Services from your mobile device. By accepting the policy, we apply some default security controls and by default the Google Device Policy app is installed. The Google Device Policy app will give you access to install H&D provided apps onto your device for free.
